Historically fruits & vegetables have been pickled to ensure a preserved supply for when they were out of season. However local Philadelphia resident and Crisp & Co founder Thomas Peter believes pickling is not just a means of extending shelf life but rather preserving exceptional produce at peak freshness and flavor!

That’s exactly what he’s done with these spicy & savory pickled green beans. The result is a unique balance of the natural flavor of the bean and the depth of flavors from the pickling process. An array of fine ingredients and spices are used to help achieve this balance, such as California Heirloom garlic!

Previous to founding Crisp & Co Thomas Peter was an analyst at a large financial institution, then later got his masters of biomedical engineering and became a cancer researcher at Cornell University. He utilizes his training as a scientist and his interest in molecular gastronomy to perfect the texture and flavor of the produce he preserves - creating delicious, flavorful pickles our customers love. Peter partnered up with Linda Ziedrich of A Gardener's Table and author of The Joy of Pickling and The Joy of Jams, Jellies, and Other Sweet Preserves to develop some of the recipes used in Crisp & Co pickles.
