recommended liquor for this mixer: rye whiskey
If you love craft cocktails but don’t have time to hunt down obscure, fancy ingredients or make your own infusions Bittlermilk has you covered!!
The husband and wife team behind Bittermilk took their experience in the bar and restaurant industry and launched this line of mixers by cocktail enthusiasts, for cocktail enthusiasts in 2013 and we’re so happy they did! Their mixers are all made with with real ingredients - including organic ingredients whenever possible. They are all made in small batches in Charleston, South Carolina where Bittermilk is crafted and bottled by hand without preservatives or stabilizers.
This hands on, small batch mentality is what’s enabled them to create such intricate mixers as Bittermilk No. 4, the New Orleans Style Old Fashioned Rouge. They use wormwood, licorice, and gentian root to suggest flavors of absinthe in addition to using cochineal for a natural pigment. The mixer is then aged in Willett Family Reserve Rye barrels from Kentucky based Willett Distillery.
Just pour your rye whiskey of choice over ice, add a splash of Bittermilk No. 4, and garnish with a lemon peel for a great cocktail any time of year!!
As the Bittermilk team says the labor is in the bottle - just add booze!
